Objective and Outcomes: *

The purpose of participating in the institute is to provide professional development for the improvement of teaching civics and government in our nation's schools. This professional development will enhance the knowledge and skills required of teachers to promote high-need and other students' attainment of competency in civic education. Another purpose is to increase teacher and student access to the We the People curriculum throughout the state of North Dakota. The intent is that teachers would use the curriculum and then have students participate in either a competitive or non-competitive hearing.
