Objective and Outcomes: 

The overarching the purpose for the North Dakota We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution Institute is to expand civic education throughout the state of North Dakota by providing research-based professional development to teachers and providing textbooks and supplemental materials that promote critically thinking, collaboration, and communication.

Teachers at the North Dakota We The People Institute will be able to:
1. Acquire content knowledge related to the We The People curriculum that will promote a deeper understanding that teachers can share with students.

2. Acquire and share teaching strategies that support student engagement related to civic education.

3. Prepare students to participate in a non-competitive or competitive Simulated Congressional Hearing

Resources/Course Materials: 

We the People textbooks, pocket Constitutions with other primary documents, handouts from scholars (historic documents and other primary and secondary sources), collection of Constitutional materials
