Objective and Outcomes: 

• Participants will utilize AVID to develop a library of teaching strategies to engage student learning.
• Participants will define new course audits (scope and sequence) to improve student knowledge.
• Participants will gain knowledge on how to assess student learning through the new My AP site.
• Participants will research and share best practices in student learning and engagement.

Evaluation and Evidence of Learning and Application: 

1. Reflections on New Learning (Describe the information sharing or collaboration options your participants will engage in as evidence of reflection upon the session content.)
• Weekly meetings as a PLC:
o Social Studies AP teachers will meet regularly to research AVID strategies, College Board resources and the My AP site.
o We will share the strategies and resources we are using in our classrooms and discuss the pros and cons of each strategy and resource.
o We will also reflect on student success and growth as we progress through our content.

2. Application of New Learning: (Describe what participants will be asked to do to show evidence of application of the session content to their work.)
• Participants will be expected to implement AVID strategies in the classroom to complement the use of College Board resources and My AP assessment tools in their course.
