Objective and Outcomes: *

Learning Objectives
*Identify the underlying causes of difficult behaviors in students
*Implement do's and dont's to address specific behaviors
*Integrate key strategies for migrating from an obedience-centered approach to a responsibility-centered approach
*Develop innovative ways to support positive behavior
*Apply strategies for preventing the escalation of difficult behavior

Resources/Course Materials: *

Resources used will include two workbooks for beginning and advanced levels of training. The Roadmap to Responsibility book will be included in the required reading for the course. The Give 'em Five book will be used in simulated experiences to practice student behaviors and strategies.

Attendance: *

The Professional Development Calendar will identify the one site and PLC sessions. Planned sessions include August, September, October, January, February, and April.

Evaluation and Evidence of Learning and Application: *

Attendance at all onsite training sessions and follow-up PLC sessions. Instructors will practice and participate in simulated experiences to utilize strategies learned to reach difficult students.
