Objective and Outcomes: 

1. Explain the difference between a growth mindset and a fixed mindset.
2. Identify practices and language that supports a growth mindset and my learners.
3. Create a list of strategies/ideas/activities that I can use in the classroom to build a learner mindset.

Participants are expected to learn and develop new skills and strategies to become more instructional effective, being able to integrate that new learning into daily instruction.

Resources/Course Materials: *

Learning will occur through an online learning platform (online modules), a book study, and article and video reviews.
Resources/materials for the online modules will be accessed through, Mindset Kit powered by PERTS, Mindset Maker Online Professional Development, and EduPlanet21. The book study will include, Mindset: The New Psychology of Success by Carol Dweck, The Growth Mindset Coach by Annie Brock and Heather Hundley, The Growth Mindset Playbook by Annie Brock and Heather Hundley, and the Mindsets in the Classroom by Mary Coy Ricci. The articles and video reviews will be established as participants research these on their own and will share/present at each session.

Evaluation and Evidence of Learning and Application: 

Learners will participate actively in group dialogue, present information at each session either independently or with a partner, and will end each session with a wonder, question or take-away on an exit ticket from the information learned. Staff will also be expected to practice/implement strategies in their classrooms and share results. Feedback will be collected at the end of the year to determine future professional development opportunities and guide planning.
