Objective and Outcomes: 

LTF is more than just another professional development session; it’s an event offering educators a variety of opportunities to strengthen their knowledge and practice. Teachers who attend our training events receive:
• Specialized, hands-on, and engaging teacher education training designed by experts for teachers of any level
• Rigorous, online classroom-ready lessons
• Classroom-ready tools to meet standards
• Resources
• Vertical alignment across grade levels
• Ongoing support from expert teachers
• A focus on STEM education

Resources/Course Materials: 

Participating teachers gain access to the diagnostic materials and resources available on the NMSI website and support from all of our trainers and staff members.

Attendance: 

Attendance is taken twice daily (morning session and afternoon session) and course completion certificates are granted

Evaluation and Evidence of Learning and Application: 

LTF training emphasizes research-based instructional strategies and best practices that build on teachers’ pedagogical knowledge to increase the impact of their classroom practice including:
• Inquiry-based Learning – approaches for engaging students to take a more active part in their own learning
• Instructional Scaffolding – Techniques and guidance for delivering differentiated instruction and facilitating students’ progression through the academic ranks toward advanced coursework.
• Vertical Alignment – Education about the knowledge and skills students need to master at each grade level to meet readiness expectations
Participants are fully engaged in hands-on, learner-centered activities during each of the four full instructional days. Attendance is taken twice daily (morning session and afternoon session) and course completion certificates are granted for successful completion.
