Objective and Outcomes: *

1) Understand what "grit" is, why it is important to develop "grit", and how to develop "grit" in our students.
2) Support the development of growth mindset - have students find a passion, develop that "I can do hard things", learning not to quit, deal with their struggles and frustrations, celebrate failures/mistakes, and praise the process.
3) Learning to "Change the Label" - “We all have obstacles in life. It is ultimately the choices we make that determine whether they block our path to success, or strengthen us on our journey. We don’t need to be defined by past labels, we can change or discard them.” “All of us have something that handicaps us. We all have problems and issues we deal with everyday. It’s how we respond to these issues that counts. We need to focus on what we do have, not what we don’t have.”
