Objective and Outcomes:
  • NDDPI is working with a program called School Retool, which is a fellowship for principals that teaches them how to make change in their schools by starting with small, scrappy experiments called "hacks." These hacks help principals figure out how their school can best encourage students to build knowledge and skills critical to academic and life success, including critical thinking, effective communication, collaboration, and an academic/learning mindset. Currently there are 22 leaders from around North Dakota participation in the fellowship.

Evaluation and Evidence of Learning and Application:
  • Over the course of 3 months, participants attend 4 onsite training sessions in Bismarck (9-26-17, 10-17-17, 11-7-17, 11-28-17) participate in reflective assignments and follow-up, observe other school locations, and reflect regularly on fellowship experiences.
