Each PLC has a set of professional development goals for the year based on the goals defined for their evaluation. These goals are to align to building and district initiatives. The PLC will determine data collection for measurement purposes. As faculty start to incorporate these components into the classroom setting, they will schedule administration to conduct formal observations of this work in practice. All work will be done through the oversight of the Department Chair, Instructional coach and building administration.

Resources/Course Materials: *

Formative Assessment and Standards Based Grading – Robert Marzano – 2010
BPS Pocket Guide to Standards-Based Education

Attendance: *

Each PLC will maintain a log of meeting times along with a description of topic addressed for each of these meetings.

Evaluation and Evidence of Learning and Application: *

PLCs prepared a professional development plan for their administrative liaison. This plan includes the PLC goals along with an articulated alignment to the building based goals. Also included in the plan are team norms, meeting times, training needs, methodology, resources, evidence of growth and indicators of progress. In February and March, a mid-year review of the goal will determine next steps to for goal and implementation progress. The final evaluation of the professional learning event will be leveraged against the growth and progress made on the defined indicators.
