Distinguish between the research base for best practices and other competing ideas not supported by scientific evidence
• Understand how language, reading, and writing are
related to one another
• Make instructional decisions and program choices with
reference to scientific research evidence, strategic use
of assessments, and observations of students
• Deliver comprehensive, integrated, language, and
literacy instruction as defined by standards and by
research for a given grade, age, or ability level
• Facilitate early identification and intervention with
reading problems, including dyslexia

Access to online course modules and manuals through Voyager Sopris West (paid through BPS CLSD funds with principal and District PD office approval).

Attendance: *

Submission of certificate of completion for each unit.

Evaluation and Evidence of Learning and Application: *

Participants will need to pass lesson and unit assessments with an 80%. Participants will need to submit their certificate showing their 80% for each end of unit assessment for Units 1-4.
