Objective and Outcomes: *

Utilizing a cohort model, Mandan Public Schools will be walking select staff members through the Four Shifts Protocol to redesign learning in participants' classrooms.

Our goal is to leverage the LDL participants in a grassroots effort to sprinkle the Four Shift protocol as part of our PLC process over time.

Resources/Course Materials: *

Below is the schedule for our LDL cohort:

Day 1 - Our World is Changing Rapidly. Are We Future-Ready? Starting with the why, participants will take a deep dive into school relevance gaps, college, and career readiness, and consider how our world is changing and the need to create urgency for change in our profession.

Day 2 & 3 - Diving deep into the four-shifts protocol!
Instructional design for future learners begins with reflective practice. We will take a deep dive into the four shifts protocol and how they can be utilized to reflect on our current lessons and instructional practices and begin redesigning and transforming!

Day 4 - Let’s Redesign! Participants will work collaboratively in their cohorts to choose a unit, pick an area of the protocol and begin shifting their instruction!

Day 5 - Share, Celebrate, and Promote Change
Participants will share their successes, failures, and learnings while looking towards the future of how to shift our instruction so that our students are ready for the future.

We will be utilizing resources from Dr. Scott McLoed, co-creator of the four shifts protocol.
