Objective and Outcomes: *

1. Participants will be introduced to the theory of the Science of Reading through participation in the online short course offered through The Big Dippers ($100 paid by the school).
2. Each participant will complete 5 modules, including Checks for Understanding and the final course assessment.
3. Participants will meet to engage in activities, discussion and reflection of the module work they are completing.
4. Discussion sessions will involve in person PLC meetings discussing and applying our newly learned knowledge to unit planning and interventions

Attendance will be documented as module completion certificates are handed in and sign in sheet at PLCs.

Evaluation and Evidence of Learning and Application: *

Participants will submit their certificates of course completion and will be applying their learning in their PLC unit planning and designing reading interventions.
