Objective and Outcomes: *

• To provide and extremely purposeful and structured time focused on teaching improvement and student learning: To focus on how their students learn and what kinds of instructional activities support student learning and thinking.
• To create field-tested lessons and materials that can be used and adapted by other instructors.
• To build communities of practice around teaching, to cultivates mutual understanding of goals, teaching practices and student learning among teachers.
• To experience scholarly Inquiry as teachers integrate teaching and research, theory and practice.
• To help us understand how teaching affects student learning and development.

Evaluation and Evidence of Learning and Application: *

Evaluation and evidence of learning will happen on a cyclical basis as we go through lesson study. Each feedback session (per and post observation) will involve a reflection of what was learned, what can be improved upon, as well as a small group collection of evidence established by teacher. The beauty of this course is that it focuses on strategies and impact on learning, application, and figuring out what makes a visible impact on student learning.
