Objective and Outcomes: *

Teachers will analyze guided reading data to effectively plan and implement a guided reading lesson.
Teachers will observe two guided reading demo lessons presented by Carolyn Gwinn. The demo lessons will allow teachers to learn the correct prompting, verbiage and structure of the guided reading lessons.
Teachers will submit a reflection summary on how they will
plan and implement guided reading assessments and reading groups for the upcoming school year.

Evaluation and Evidence of Learning and Application: *

We will begin both days at 8:00am and end at 3:00pm. Teachers will have one hour lunch each day. The teachers will be asked to review, reflect and plan on the presentation, demo lessons and information provided. Each teacher will be asked to reading in the evening the book Next Step Forward in Guided Reading Chapters that were presented to them by Carolyn Gwinn. Teachers will write a summary of the chapters and turn this into Tami Hauglie on Tuesday before they leave. Teachers will also submit to Tami Hauglie on Tuesday, June 26 a reflection summary of how they will plan and implement guided reading assessments and reading groups for the upcoming school year.
