Objective and Outcomes: *

Educators will gain the following from the training:
1. Capacity to use high-impact student engagement strategies in daily lessons as well as embedded within engaging Project-Based Learning experiences.
2. Review of key 21st century skills (critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity) and the role these skills play in college, career, life readiness and employability.
3. Acquisition of and continued development of 21st century education best practices through ongoing, engaging professional development sessions—including (but not limited to) the use of high impact engagement strategies, cooperative learning and facilitation of strong collaboration, role of the teacher in a 21st century classroom, balanced assessment, etc.
4. Review of basic elements of PBL, as well as basic implementation strategies for Standards-Based Project-Based Learning (PBL).
5. Through structured and scaffolded professional learning experiences that build to an end project/product to be implemented in the coming school year, educators will continue to gain the professional confidence and capacity to create Standards-Based PBL experiences that are engaging, relevant, and authentic for students, both individually and collaboratively.
6. Personalized professional learning time to grow 21st century education capacity and build strong PBL experiences for students.
7. Opportunities for solid collaboration with peers, especially around interdisciplinary planning and connection and creation of PBL units.

Resources/Course Materials: *

Educators will be provided with ALL online and print resources and tools throughout the training. This includes an online PBL building tool called ROOT the will be used throughout the process. In addition, the presenter will infuse research based articles to incorporate.

Attendance: *

All session attendance will be recorded by administration.

Evaluation and Evidence of Learning and Application: *

Educators will be submitting information into the online platform ROOT throughout the process which provides avenues for for feedback and then published to the online portal for the online community to utilize. Administration will be incorporating mini interval sessions into scheduled building and district level PLC's. Administrators will also observe implementation of the PBL in the classroom.
