1) Participants will understand the cultural significance of the Oceti Sakowin Standards. Outcome: Participants will use the Oceti Sakowin Standards to inform classroom activities and learning outcomes.
2) Participants will learn the significance of the 12 Lakota Virtues as outlined by Joseph Marshall III. Objective: Participants will utilize the the Lakota virtues as ways to recognize student endeavors. Participants will recognize the Lakota virtues and be able to refer to them in classroom conversations and utilize them in lesson objectives.
3) Participants will learn some of the history, traditions, cultural understandings, and ceremonies of the Lakota/Dakota people. Outcome: Participants will be able to recognize some of the challenges faced by the Lakota/Dakota people. They will recognize and be able to integrate some aspects of Lakota/Dakota history, tradition, cultural understandings and ceremonies into classroom activities and learning objectives.
