Objective and Outcomes: *

To continue to learn and explore research based strategies for teaching writing.
To align our writing instruction with Common Core standards
To help our students gain essential skills in writing through modeled writing, guided writing, conferences, revising, editing and sharing their work
To learn to effectively use formative assessment to inform our teaching and increase student learning
To further our understanding of writers’ workshop

Evaluation and Evidence of Learning and Application: *

Teachers will collaborate to deepen their expertise in guiding student writing. We will discuss ways to align Common Core standards within our writing workshop.
Learners will use required texts as resources to help with instruction, participate in discussions, meet bi-monthly with study group and create a plan and implement writer’s workshop in their classroom.
