Objective and Outcomes: *

• Participants will gain knowledge of what the AVID curriculum has to offer
• Participants will implement some of these strategies within their own classroom and look for targeted results based upon what they are trying to achieve (improved lab report write-ups, better preparation for the lecture, enhanced notetaking in preparation for the discussion, etc.)
• Participants will gain knowledge of the latest trends within the science classrooms through the book study and engage in a rich discussion based upon the reading.
• Participants will be able to dive into the data available through the ASPIRE testing to seek specific issues that may be present and collectively develop recommendations for improvements with examples of foundational supporting materials.
• Participants will be able to provide evidence of student growth within the arena of literacy.
